Update re Impact of Covid-19
The footballing year to date has been very difficult. League matches have been cancelled and we don’t honestly know when matches will be allowed start up again. We have kept up the training sessions as we feel it is more important than ever that the players have a sporting outlet where at all possible. The safety of the players and coaches is also paramount and we all must continue to abide by the rules regarding drop-off & collection @ Castlelands Community Centre and to work within the current Government guidelines and hope for a return to normality soon.
Recently, the Committee met and discussed the requirement to pay fee’s in full, or if partial/staggered payment options should be considered. It was agreed that whilst the club had ongoing and unavoidable costs, such as insurance, leagues fees (paid in advance), equipment etc…, that the current fee of €100 may be in excess whilst league games are not being played.
Considering this and the potential impact Covid-19 has had on peoples income, the club has decided to ask for an interim minimum payment of €50 per player, of which payment is due to be made before November 30th. This interim payment will allow the club to pay for ongoing costs and confirm all players are insured. A review of the Covid restrictions and the impact on the remaining footballing season will be conducted early in the new year, at which point, any additional payment of fees will be conveyed to the players and parents.
Notwithstanding the above arrangement, those that have yet to pay membership still have the option to pay €100 and avail if the club kit offer but, if doing so, this payment must be made before November 13th as this is the day we will be making our order for club kits. The committee is aware that some players and parents have already paid the original €100, thank you to those that have done so, and you have ordered club kit as part of this fee. You can rest assured that your order will be fulfilled and that the remainder of your fee, will either go towards the fees due in 2021 or the following season. Those wishing to purchase club kit directly can do so via the Balon website www.balondirect.com. Please note that All players are required to have club shorts and socks in order to play any official league games in the new year.
Again, we appreciate that we are all trying to work with an ever-changing environment, but we hope that all our members can understand the need to continue to proceed with covering the costs of the basics and essentials, in an attempt to keep Balrothery F.C. open and safe.
